Home Learning at Arnold Hill Academy

At Arnold Hill, homework is an important part of the curriculum. We want to support all students to complete homework and also ensure that parents and carers are informed about the content and when homework is set.

At Arnold Hill Academy we use Show My Homework, an online tool to help you keep track of your child’s homework. Show My Homework will allow you to see the details of the tasks your child has been set, as well as their submission status and grades. All homework is recorded on Show My Homework.

We hope that this service will provide you with a deeper insight into the homework your child receives. More importantly, we hope that it will improve your child’s organisation, time-management, and help them to keep on top of their workload.

Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils (years 7-11)

  • Pupils will be supported with homework during a 45 minutes ‘intervention’ session when they miss submitting two or more pieces of homework per subject, per half-term
  • This will be run on a fortnightly basis in faculty areas at lunch time on a rota. It will be staffed by TLR teams who should provide home work for this session or in some faculties run by individual teaching staff. Pupils will then hand it into their class teacher. The ‘submission status’ will then be marked as ‘complete’
  • Failure to attend the ‘intervention’ session will result in a Faculty letter home to parents.
