Post 16 Study Leave Dates

Year 13 students will leave for study leave on Friday 25th May 2018. Any students who wish to come in for study sessions with their teachers after the May Half Term are more than welcome to attend timetabled lessons as normal. Any BTEC Level 3 students with coursework still to complete will be asked to attend school as normal until this work is completed by the deadlines.

Year 12 students do not have study leave and will continue to attend timetabled lessons as normal after May Half Term.

Year 12 visit Oxford University

Several of our Year 12 students had a fantastic day when they visited Oxford University recently. They were joined by Robert Mangan, a former Arnold hill student who is currently at Oxford doing his PhD in Chemistry. He is a student ambassador, and when he saw Arnold Hill Academy were coming he was keen to encourage our students to apply!!

University Taster Days

Nottingham 1Nottingham 2

As part of the Bright Day on Friday 2nd February, 75 Year 12 students attended Taster Days at either Loughborough University or the University of Nottingham. Students experienced university life for a day – visiting lecture theatres, tour of the campus, learning how to write a good personal statement as well as understanding student finance. The sun shone and the students behaved impeccably; asking thoughtful questions and representing the school brilliantly. Thanks to all teachers involved – Ms Stockwell, Mrs Johnson, Mrs Corton and Mrs Spencer.
