Basketball England launch girls' programme

To coincide with International Women’s Day, our year 9 girls took part in the FIBA Under 14 girls 3X3 launch event. Nottingham Wildcats provided the girls with two hours of really enjoyable coaching which helped to develop their game. Everyone agreed it was a fantastic event to be a part of. More information about the programme can be found on the Basketball England website at https://www.basketballengland.co.uk/news/basketball-england-to-launch-girls-3x3-programme/

Admissions outside of the normal year of entry into Year 7 will be processed by Arnold hill Academy and applications should be made directly to the school. The Application Form and details of how to apply are available by contacting the Admissions Team at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Applications received in year will be dealt with in accordance with our published criteria. If a place is available in the appropriate year group, then that place will be offered. If no places are available, the child’s name will be added to the waiting list. The position on that waiting list is determined by the Arnold Hill Academy oversubscription criteria, not in the date order by which they are received. Statement from Trent Academies Group Board

We are sorry to have to inform you that Mr Crompton has decided that he wishes to retire from his position as CEO of Trent Academies Group at the end of August 2018. The Board respects Mr Crompton’s decision & has reluctantly accepted his resignation.

We are very grateful to Mr Crompton for all he has done for Rushcliffe , Farnborough and Arnold Hill. Under his stewardship Mr Crompton will leave each academy in a stronger position than when he first became involved.

Mr Crompton’s career as a Head Teacher has brought real positive change to many students and the schools and the academies he has led. He became a Head teacher in 2000 and since then has led one school from the point of closure to Ofsted ‘good’, has taken over a school that was in ‘special measures’ and left when it was ‘good with outstanding features’ prior to leading Rushcliffe to ‘outstanding’ in 2014.

Mr Crompton’s planned departure will have no impact on the work of the Trust  or our academies and he will remain engaged in his work as CEO over the coming months. The Board will be taking time to plan the right succession for Mr Crompton in conjunction with our ongoing work to look at the right options to secure further improvement for our schools in 2018 and beyond.

Thank you for your support.

Andrew Pickin (Chair of Trent Academies Group)

10th January 2018

Dear Parent/Carer

As you are aware Arnold Hill Academy is part of the Trent Academies Group. I was originally the Head Teacher at Rushcliffe School and became the CEO of the Trent Academies Group when Rushcliffe started to work closely with Farnborough in 2014. It was then joined by Arnold Hill in 2015.  I have very much enjoyed overseeing the work of the three academies and believe each has improved significantly over the last three years. I have, however, decided that it is time to retire from the CEO role.  I became a Head Teacher in 2000 and have enjoyed the experience enormously.  I hope I have made a difference. There are, however, other things that I would like to do and I will retire from school leadership at the end of the academic year.

I know each academy is well led by capable Head Teachers. The Board, which oversees the Trust, is informed and committed. The three academies are well positioned to provide an excellent service in the coming years and I will, of course, work closely with the Board to ensure the succession is managed in the interests of the young people in our communities.

Best wishes

P.T. Crompton

Dear Parent/Carer,

We are very grateful to Mr Crompton for all his help in driving improvement at Arnold Hill in recent years and wish him all the best for the future.

Mr Crompton supported us through a period of significant change and improvement at Arnold Hill and we very much look forward to continuing with these improvements both this year and further into the future.
