Read for Good
Our year 7 pupils have made a fabulous start to their ‘Read for Good Sponsored Read’. The Readathon was launched by a group of our amazing year 8 pupils during assembly and will run for the next two weeks.
Pupils can choose whatever they want to read - from comics to classics and audio books to blogs - they are not being assessed, it’s all about reading for fun. They are motivated to read because the money they raise in sponsorship helps to provide a regular supply of brand new books and a resident storyteller to every major children’s hospital in the UK.
Pupils can enter the Teacher’s Favourite Book competition where they have to list as many teacher’s favourite books as possible, and we are also running a cake competition on Friday 19th October where pupils can make a cake on a book related theme.
