Success for students at annual PiXL awards

On the 4th October 2017 three of Arnold Hill’s highest achieving Y11 students and their families, made their way to Westminster London for the annual PiXL organisation awards afternoon. PiXL, which stands for Partners in Excellence, works with over half of all secondary schools in the country in raising achievement and developing talent.
The ceremony was a super event that showcased not only the best achieving students, but also those who had overcome great hardship to complete their examinations and still do well. Interspersed between the awards was music, song and dance performed by young people from across the country which was an absolute pleasure to watch.
The guest speaker for the day was James Cosmo (Trainspotting; The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe; Titans and Game of Thrones fame). He spoke very highly of the event and really encouraged the youngsters to seek out their passions in life and be all the best they can be.
The three Arnold Hill students were, Erin Heald, Sophia Kopacz and Luke Archer who all enjoyed the afternoon and as ever, represented the academy well, receiving their awards for splendid examination results, hard-work and commitment, with their usual dignity and good manners.
As their Head of Year it was a very proud afternoon to share with the students and their families, and celebrate in their success at Arnold Hill.
Congratulations to them all and a big thank you also to their parents for their hard work and support of our academy over the years.

Mr Smith Head of Year 11
