Annual Inspection for Combined Cadet Force

Since January this year 13 cadets from Arnold Hill Academy’s Combined Cadet Force (CCF) have been parading and training alongside students from the Nottingham High School, and on Saturday they joined forces for their annual inspection day. The contingent was inspected by Major Tom Anstey, Adjutant, Attack Helicopter Force, The Lord Mayor of Nottingham and the Headmaster of Nottingham High School. Students took part in a number of drills and activities to showcase the CCF and the work they have done so far. Staff from Arnold Hill Academy have been supporting cadets throughout the process, with Matt Robertson (Head of Academy) and Tom Watson (Head of Year 9) present as part of the VIP inspecting party for the morning.

Our CCF will become fully independent in September 2017 and will begin parading at Arnold Hill at that point. This fantastic opportunity for our students would not be possible without the hard work and commitment of our school staff and a special note of thanks goes to Miss Adams (2nd Lt Adams), Mr Robson (2nd Lt Robson), Mr Hatfield (Staff Sgt Hatfield) and Mr Craze (2nd Lt Craze, Contingent Commander) for their work so far with our cadets.

We would also like to thank the parents of our cadets that came along to support them at the weekend and see how far they have come in such a short time.
