Aspiration Day at University of Cambridge
On the 27th January I was fortunate to accompany 11 of Year 10’s brightest shining students at an ‘Aspiration Day’ at Peterhouse College, Cambridge. The day was focused on developing students’ understanding of what university life entailed, and more specifically the types of opportunities on offer as a student at the University of Cambridge.
During the day students took part in a range of workshops to develop their understanding of career pathways and subject choices up to degree level, and gained a crucial understanding of how to develop their own career goals, aspirations and outcomes.
Students also had a fantastic opportunity to hear either Laura Hardwick speak on the role of Frog research in the treatment of degenerative diseases, or a fascinating talk by Master of Peterhouse, Bridget Kendall on the role of Modern Foreign Languages and the career opportunities that they can create.
All involved found the day hugely inspirational and it has really raised the bar in their aspirations for their futures.
