Home Learning at Arnold Hill Academy
At Arnold Hill, home learning is an important part of the curriculum. We want to support all students to complete home learning and also ensure that parents and carers are informed about the content and when home learning is set.
This week, all students have been given a Home Learning booklet (copies are available to download below). This booklet contains the term’s home learning plan for each subject. Where possible, home learning will be set in line with these timings and themes. This may be subject to some alteration if there is a Bright Day, INSET day or a teacher is absent. Students will also record home learning in their planner. Please use the booklet to discuss home learning with your child. If you do have any questions or queries, please email your child’s teacher directly.
Home learning is important to support progress; effort and completion of home learning is recognised through reward points. Students are not formally sanctioned if home learning is not complete. Individual teachers do sometimes expect students to finish incomplete home learning with them outside of lesson time. This is particularly important at Key Stage 4 as making good progress is vital.
In addition, there will also be a drop-in home learning club every Monday and Tuesday from 3:15pm-4:15pm. This will be held in the School Library in B Block for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.
