Toby Fisher – Under 13s England Ice Hockey Call Up

Toby Fisher (Year 7) has been playing ice hockey for the last six years and is now starting to reap the rewards from all of his hard work and dedication.
He has been chosen to join the England under 13s squad that will be going to Scotland this December, and will play against the Scottish national team as well as some of the Scotland under 15s team. Within the last week, Toby has also been selected for the England squad that will travel to the Czech Republic in February 2016.

Toby’s first experience on ice skates was on the outdoor ice rink at Christmas when he had just turned 5. He enjoyed the experience so much, he asked if he could have lessons to learn to skate like his big brother Jake. He signed up for the Squirts sessions which take place at the National Ice Centre for children between the ages of 4 -7, and learned to skate and play ice hockey.
When he was just five years old, Toby was selected to play for the Nottingham under 10s team, The Sabres. He has worked his way up through the Nottingham teams and is now very proud to be the assistant captain for his current team, The Tiger Cubs.
Toby trains three times a week, and his hard work to ensure that he was chosen for the squad that will be travelling to the Czech Republic next year has paid off. It’s great to see Toby is really enjoying himself, and is ready to be pushed to the next level in his ice hockey career.

We wish him and his team mates good luck in their forthcoming campaigns.
